Corner-Stop

Do you know exactly what you are putting into your body when you eat outside of your own kitchen? Cooking at home – or better yet, letting CK prepare and deliver your meals – is obviously the way to go for truly clean eating since you know exactly what is poppin’ fresh out the kitchen. BUT, dinner with friends, celebrations or just a break from your own four walls doesn’t mean your healthy habits have to go by the wayside. We are so lucky, here on the South Shore, that we have myriad healthy options (farm fresh, organic, low salt, sugar-free, gluten-free – you name it) to choose from that won’t leave you with a sodium hangover or in a sugar-laden coma.

I love the opportunity to explore what local chef’s are creating, channel inspiration for my own menus, and enjoy special local farm-to-table preparations. Just like us, many local area restaurants source produce directly from local farms. Our friends at The Corner Stop Eatery and Galley/Trident regularly feature dishes created with produce from Holly Hill Farm (Cohasset) and, as our own clients know, their organically grown greens, vegetables and herbs are truly delicious.

Here, at Clandestine Kitchen, we also believe that the mantra ‘everything in moderation’ is the only way to live life and enjoy food. Sometimes, it might be an entree that captures my attention and gets my taste buds rolling, while other times, I prefer to sample a few salad, soup or appetizer options for a multi-course ride to “Flavor Town” (anyone else obsessed with Triple D?). I also have my own favorite joints on speed dial for those nights when, after cooking for our clients and my own family, I just need a night off. Mixing one super clean dish with one comfort food dish is traditionally my go-to when I seriously cannot narrow it down to just one choice (a hearty bowl of soup and a light salad or baked fries and a piece of seared salmon).

Here are my current go-to’s for a healthy meal out on the town (or, takeout in my sweatpants at home is probably more like it #letsbehonest):
