Everything in the universe is made up of energy. From rocks to rainbows, all matter is made up of vibrating particles of energy…the difference being the speed at which we vibrate. In my previous posts we looked at the phenomenon of frequencies and how everything has a different rate of vibration and its own resonant frequency. We looked at how sound and vibration can affect us physically, mentally and spiritually.
In today’s post I’d like to look at how to raise our own personal level of vibration.

Perhaps I should have paid more attention in Physics class… because so many things relate back to the principles of physics; the law of attraction, resonance and frequency.

The law of attraction – according to the “New Thought” philosophy, “is the belief that the universe creates and provides for you that which your thoughts are focused on. It is believed by many to be a universal law by which ‘Like always attracts like.’ The results of positive thoughts are always positive consequences.”

While there are critics of this absolute philosophy, most agree that having positive thoughts can improve your energy level and promote positive outcomes.

Resonance – Have you ever spent time with someone and felt energized by them? If so, you may have met someone who vibrates at a similar frequency as you. The principle of resonance can help explain this phenomenon – one object vibrating at the same natural frequency of a second object forces that second object into vibrational motion. So, it makes sense that spending time with positive people can help raise your vibration. Scientifically, you are aligning your frequency with someone who is vibrating at a similar level, thus amplifying your level of vibration.

Frequency – Why do we sometimes feel low, with no energy and no “pep” and other times we are full of energy and a zest for life? One factor could be our level of vibration. When we get bogged down with negative feelings, insecurity, envy – too much social media comparing ourselves to others – we lower our natural frequency. Similarly, not eating well, not moving our bodies, spending too much time indoors, in stressful situations, all lower our vibration.

Here are ten ways to increase your vibration frequency:

Visualize and meditate. This can calm the chaos in your brain and help you move towards your goals.

Spend time with positive people. Take breaks from people who don’t make you feel good, people who drain your energy. Don’t start your morning (as I often do) on social media, comparing yourself to others.

Spend time in nature. The Japanese have a term called Shinrin yoku which means “forest bathing”, literally taking in the energy of the forest through all of our senses.

Eat organic as much possible and be conscious of the food you eat. Take a moment to be grateful for each meal and appreciate where it comes from.

Take a bath with Epsom salts. Epsom salts are made up of magnesium and sulfate. Taking a warm bath with epsom salts can reduce inflammation, promote muscle recovery after exercise and reduce stress through elimination of toxins from the body. At the very least taking a warm bath is giving you some ‘me’ time to relax.

Do a random act of kindness. Sending out positive vibes by helping others is the best way to take your mind off yourself and whatever woes you may have.

Dance, run, jump, shake it up…get your body moving. As we age, the old adage ‘move it or lose it’ becomes even more important. It doesn’t have to be a major workout, just a walk or a dance to a favorite song will get the blood and the positive energy flowing!

Ask yourself, “what makes me happy”, then visualize it in detail. Just the act of thinking and visualizing about something that makes you happy will create positive vibes in your brain and body. It’s hard to visualize cuddling with a puppy and not feel better!

Until next time…when we will look at the little-known pineal gland and its big impact on our health and well-being.
