In my last post, I described my A-HA moment when I discovered that a certain frequency of music helped me to meditate. It was 528hz. As I began to look into the phenomenon of frequencies I grew more excited by the interconnected nature of the universe.
Socrates said that “energy, or soul, is separate from matter and that the universe is made of energy – pure energy which was there before man and other material things like the earth came along.”
Quantum physics teaches us that we are all made up of energy, our life force or Chi (from Chinese), Ki (Japanese) and Prana (Indian). Scientists and philosophers from Socrates to Einstein, believe that at our core, our cells are vibrating.
The more I read, the more I realized that everything seems to come down to vibration, from music and (sacred) geometry to our chakras. Everything has different rates of vibration and its own resonant frequencies. Sound and vibration can affect us physically, mentally and spiritually.
Some describe 528hz as the “musical mathematical matrix of creation.” (Dr. Horowitz, https://attunedvibrations.com/528hz/)
Some claim it can repair DNA. This is where it gets somewhat complicated /controversial. For our purposes, I will not delve into certain claims. All I know is what I know personally, that it definitely calms my mind and helps me to meditate. If that’s all it does, great! If it can do more, even better.
I try to balance my need for scientific proof and my belief in something unseen or unprovable. When I learned about Cymatics it helped put the seen and the unseen together. Cymatics is the study of sound and sound waves and their visual representation.
This was another A-HA moment for me! The incredible kaleidoscope patterns created by the changing frequencies were stunning. I realized that if we are made up of vibrating cells, like the sand on the sound plate, that we could resonate at different frequencies with different effects.
This led me to study a wide variety of topics from what we can do to try to raise our own vibration, to sound medicine and the law of attraction. I will cover all of these topics in future posts.
Until next time…
